East End Incubator Kitchens is 4th Street Market’s ten fully equipped, commercial kitchen spaces for rent, ideally designed for artisanal and small-scale food production, personal chefs and caterers as well as delivery, ghost kitchen / cloud kitchen / dark kitchen uses, and virtual kitchen / virtual restaurant uses.  East End Incubator Kitchens offer six traditional kitchen facilities, two dedicated solely to gluten free products and one specifically for confectionary work.  Each commercial kitchen space is fully self-contained, in that the food maker is not sharing their space with another, and features public viewing windows into the market.  These commercial kitchens may be rented by the hour, day, or month, utilizing access to the market’s 8,000 square foot basement which includes a commissary, dry storage, cold storage, and packing/ labeling room.  Food artisans will also have the opportunity to showcase and test market their products in 4th Street Market’s on-site specialty food shop.

East End Incubator Kitchens has partnered with Food Centricity, a business accelerator focused solely to assist artisans in successfully entering into this extremely competitive sales arena.  Food Centricity connects and streamlines resources to launch, groom, and effectively grow a business in Southern California and beyond, enabling and fast-tracking food maker success.

The incubator kitchens are a platform for up and coming food makers to take their creations to the next level. Our goal is to make the food maker successful.

Depending on the membership tier, each food maker has access to the Business Center. Amenities include:

HOURS OF OPERATION

The rental kitchen spaces are available 24/7 and must be scheduled in advance. Each block scheduled is a 4 hour minimum unless pre‐approved for less time, or a more permanent schedule with set days and hours.

  • Peak Hours: 6AM – 10PM

  • Off‐Peak Hours: 10PM – 6AM

Consulting Services

Consulting Services provided by Food Centricity, a business accelerator focused on helping food artisans/entrepreneurs launch and grow their business.  A multitude of services are available and are priced on a case by case basis.  Food makers will receive a free initial consultation to assess their needs.  Services include:

RESERVATION SYSTEM

An online reservation system is used for booking space in the rental kitchens and/or event space.

4th Street utilizes a commissary system and receiving manager for streamlining ordering, deliveries, and to take advantage of buying power.

Rental Rates

Kitchen Rates

Peak Hours (6AM-10PM) - $30/hr

Off‐Peak Hours (10PM-6AM) ‐ $25/hr

Prep Space - $18/hr

Monthly User – 20% off the regular rate. User must schedule no less than 24 hours and no more than 40 hours per week. 8 hours of off‐peak time must be scheduled if booking more than 32 hours. Monthly Users get priority scheduling.

Tenant User – same as monthly user rate; no minimum required. Priority scheduling will be on a case‐by‐case basis.
